I’m surprised at how many of my students are using Firefox this semester. For the first time, there are more Firefox users than Internet Explorer users in my classes. I’m not sure how many of these students are using Firefox extensions and plugins, however.
One plugin that I do recommend is LinkExtend. It’s free, and provides easy access to helpful information about web sites, including safety and content ratings. Users can also retrieve cached and archived versions of web pages and view estimates of the site’s revenue and financial performance.
It’s easy to install a plugin with Firefox — just go to its web page at Firefox.org, press the install button, then restart your Firefox browser when prompted.
